The Heath & Havering Group of United Reformed Churches consists of 2 pastorates:
- Chadwell Heath, Nelmes Hornchurch & Trinity Upminster (ChaNT)
- Romford: Heaton Way & Western Road
The Romford Pastorate is served by Reverend Alison Davis:
I studied law at UCW Aberystwyth and qualified as a solicitor after articles in local authority and the court service. I practiced for some years as a clerk in the magistrates court using my administrative skills in organizing courts and magistrates.
My theology degree & ministerial formation at Manchester University & Northern College was followed by a Master in Theology at Cardiff University whilst in my first pastorate. I was ordained in 1994 in Christchurch LEP Ogmore Vale, South Wales.
In 2001 I moved to Cardiff, called to serve as Training & Development Officer for the National Synod of Wales (50%) and Chaplain to Higher Education in Cardiff (50%). A member of a pioneering Team Ministry in the Norwich Area United Reformed Churches followed in 2007. 2014 saw me called to serve Bexley & Geddes Place, Bexleyheath, United Reformed Churches and in 2018 Emmanuel Methodist/United Reformed Church Sidcup joined the pastorate. I now serve two churches in Romford, part of the Heath & Havering Group (50%) and as Support & Development Tutor Northern College (50%).
My wider church experience has involved, Pastoral Committee Convenor, member of the Assessment Board, member of Assembly Commissions and the MIND advisory group.

The ChaNT Pastorate has recently welcomed Reverend Brian Buschkill as their new minister.
We are blessed to have a Self-Supporting Minister serving our Group:
Reverend Ann Woodhurst: Ordained as an N.S.M. in 2004, my work as a trained nurse in a Children’s Hospice complimented the Bereavement Care Ministry I had been asked to carry out, by the then Moderator of the Thames North Synod.
In 2007, I accepted an invitation to be seconded to the U.P.C.S.A. ( the Uniting Presbyterian Church) in South Africa, where I worked both as a Minister in pastoral charge of a small ‘black’ African congregation and as a Director of one of the six Presbytery/Synod divisions. The congregation of St. Andrews, King Williams Town was both a challenge and a delight.
Since returning to the U.K. in June 2014 I have had the privilege of serving with the Heath and Havering Ministry team, which cares for a group of five churches.
