Our Church offers a welcome for everyone. We continually strive to provide that warm welcome to young and old. Worship is at the heart of our life together and a variety of activities flow from that, as we try to nurture our faith and engage with the community around us. Through our Sunday Service, our prayer meetings and our Bible Study Groups plus our interaction with the other four churches in the Heath & Havering Group, our church premises are used for the benefit of a variety of groups. We support Fair Trade and our local Food Bank, and as we are involved across five Churches there is something to be involved in all through the year.
We are beginning our journey with Churches Together in Hornchurch and hope to contribute to Community services and outreach through this. We regularly run Hope Bereavement Courses to support people at a difficult time in their lives. Our premises host a number of Uniformed Organizations, who join us for Parade services at church once a month. We also organize various socials each year to which we invite local community groups.
At Nelmes, we recognise our obligation to be stewards of God’s gift of creation and hope to show how Christians lead the way. To this end, we have achieved recognition with a Bronze Eco Church Award and are currently working towards a Silver Award.
