Nelmes URC is a small, family-friendly church located in the Emerson Park neighbourhood in Hornchurch. We are proud of the hospitality that we offer to visitors and members alike and would love a chance to welcome you into our church family!
The focal point of our life together is our Sunday worship service each week at 11:15am. We celebrate Holy Communion on the fourth Sunday of the month. On the second Sunday of the month, we offer a special Family Service especially designed for children and young people (and young-at-heart!). Our Family Services are also attended by members of the Uniformed Organizations that are chartered to our church.
Weekly events include Blue Sky Mondays (our sanctuary is open from 7-8pm for private prayer, or a conversation if you need someone to talk to), and our Heath & Havering Evening Communion Service takes place in our sanctuary at 5:30pm on the second Wednesday of most months (the service is informal and lasts around 45 minutes). We also enjoy welcoming our neighbours and friends to our Community Coffee Mornings several times each year.
Nelmes is also proud to have achieved Bronze Eco Church certification through A Rocha, symbolizing our commitment to be responsible stewards of God’s gift of Creation.
